Great combination of Perfect Shot and official Nintendo blaster May 12, 2009 A. Pauley 27 out of 27 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this blaster because I am a huge fan of the RE series and enjoy the gun-style games on Wii. I have the official Wii blaster made by Nintendo that came with Link's Crossbow training. The only thing that I like about that blaster better than this is the cord management, the RE blaster leaves the cord to the nunchuck hanging off to one side or the other. Other than that, I love this blaster. It has a spring in the trigger (much more accurate than the lack of one in the Nintendo model) and you have the option to take off the back grip and play with this gun in pistol mode. This makes the cord management a non-issue. Now let me compare this to the Nyko Perfect Shot, which I also own. The Perfect Shot has a much larger grip, and the wiimote fitment is a little more snug and secure (not that its loose by any means in the RE gun, but just better in the Perfect Shot). It also allows you to plug in a nunchuck through the passthrough at the bottom of the grip. This is great if you need it, but it leaves the nunchuck loose in your second hand. If I could choose one "blaster" shell out of all 3, I would suggest the RE blaster. It's versatility is excellent because its really a combination of the other two, and it just looks sweet.. Plus, it comes with an Umbrella Corporation thumb grip and skin for your wiimote, a nice touch.
Looks great in the picture May 6, 2009 William C. Kee II 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
The Shot Blaster looks amazing, let's get that out of the way. It is the most BA looking controller for the Wii in my opinion, which is why I bought it. It LOOKS so much cooler than the zapper.
Honestly, it works great. The only problem (which is a huge one) is that the "cord management system (which is just a little hole behind where you put in the wiimote)" doesn't do much good; it just makes the excess cord shorter, it doesn't eliminate it.
The pictures you see of the gun seem to have a magical nunchuck with no chord, because my nunchuck has a cord that sticks out of the back and hangs down awkwardly during gameplay.
Best Guncon ever!! February 16, 2009 Ashley Lambrakis 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is by far the best light gun to play Umbrella Chronicles or any other rail shooter. Reloading is super easy with movable back handle, and all of the buttons are accessible. Back "blaster" portion is removable to convert it to a pistol. Comes with a sweet remote skin and analog cover. An absolute must for any Resident Evil fan!! Capcom should rerelease them though, because they're super hard to find!!
Great for any RE fan July 4, 2010 Azure_Warlord (CO USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Despite what some others have said, I haven't had any major problems with this blaster. The skin for the Wii-mote and nun-chuck are very cool. I think it's a great buy if you're a fan of the series. The cord hanging about is a little annoying, but I forgot about it after playing for 5 minutes. If you like anything RE, consider picking this up.
Nice gun June 16, 2010 1koolkat (Morgan Hill, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Based on previous reviews of the Wii Resident Evil Blaster as well as other similar products, I went with the RE Blaster. So far I have only used it for HotD: Overkill, and it works flawlessly. It's my only gun, so I have nothing to compare it with, yet I am very happy and satisfied with my purchase. I did try to use it with RE:4, but the game is much better without any gun attachments, so I just use the standard Wii Remote w/nunchuk.
